Expanded Polystyrene / EPS - commonly referred to as Styrofoam? - is made up of 98 percent air and 2 percent plastic. With such a high volume/weight ratio, EPS waste can quickly fill up garbage cans, dumpsters, and landfill space.

Although recycling of plastics, paper, and glass is common in world, recycling of EPS is not. Many still believe that EPS is not worth recycling.
